Both parts of the city showcase a difference in architecture, due to the period in which they were built and there are city tours that students can book on to learn more.
Just steps away from the apartment lies the magnificent St. Giles’ Cathedral, a working church for the last 900 years, and The Scott Monument, which at an impressive 61 metres high, provides mind-blowing views from the top of the tower - which is a steep climb but worth it for the panoramas. You can access the monument through the Princes Gardens, a pretty green space which is perfect for summer picnics and admiring the towering Edinburgh Castle.
