Royal Mile Residences are located on the north end of Edinburgh’s Old Town, which makes it extremely easy to explore the New Town too. Both parts of the city showcase a difference in architecture, due to the period in which they were built and there are city tours that students can book on to learn more.

Just steps away from the apartment lies the magnificent St. Giles’ Cathedral, a working church for the last 900 years, and The Scott Monument, which at an impressive 61 metres high, provides mind-blowing views from the top of the tower - which is a steep climb but worth it for the panoramas. You can access the monument through the Princes Gardens, a pretty green space which is perfect for summer picnics and admiring the towering Edinburgh Castle.

Travelling to London and the UK is easy from Royal Mile Residences, with Edinburgh Waverley Station a 5-minute walk from the apartment, but with such a range of activities to do, we can’t think why you’d want to leave. From walking down The Royal Mile, hiking up the famous Arthur’s Seat or a spot of shopping at the luxurious Multrees Walk to visiting the Museum of Edinburgh and watching the world go by at the top of Calton Hill, there couldn’t be a better city to live in during your studies.
